The Recon Drone is simple yet highly important. Obviously used to Recon it goes ahead of fleets and past our boarders on scouting and spying missions. It is also used as a light fightercraft. A common and powerful use is when a patrol fleet picks up an anomaly or distress signal. Rather than risking the whole fleet in an ambush a Vector Frigate will deploy a Recon Drone instead.
The Caldari Patrol Drone is a small drone designed for patrol and is commonly deployed in two squadrons. It is more often used than Mantis Fighters and has greater protection for key systems than the Recon Drone
The Caldari Hornet is being developed to replace the Patrol Drone in offensive actions. It will also somewhat replace the Mantis as it will have similar stats
The Mantis is the first true fighter of the Caldera Empire. Its a powerful slugger dishing out powerful damage. Its design allows easy access to parts to be repaired. This gives it a longer lifespan.
